Move Dance Family offers graded dance technique classes in Richmond, TX for kids and teens ages 7 and up. Our family-centered program focuses on strong fundamentals, intentional progression, and confident movement across multiple dance styles—all in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Classes are leveled by skill, experience, and readiness, allowing dancers to grow with confidence while being appropriately challenged.
What Is Graded Technique?
Graded technique classes group dancers by skill level rather than age, allowing students to progress safely and confidently. This approach supports long-term development while reducing frustration and burnout.

Age Groups & Levels
Dance Classes for Ages 7–12
Our youth graded classes focus on building fundamentals while encouraging creativity and confidence.
Dancers work on:

Classes are leveled to ensure dancers feel supported while still being challenged.
Dancers are placed in Level 1–3 classes depending on experience and readiness.
Dance Classes for Ages 13+
Teen dancers receive more advanced instruction focused on refinement, strength, and artistry.
Training includes:

Intermediate to advanced technique

Pointe (by placement)

Convention-track technique options

Preparation for higher-level training
Many of our teen dancers have gone on to top college dance programs, leadership roles, and professional pathways.
Upper levels may include Convention-track technique classes for dancers participating in conventions or advanced training.

Weekly Commitment
Most graded dancers attend:

2–3 technique classes per week

Classes are held Monday–Saturday only

No required Saturday or Sunday classes
This allows dancers to grow technically while still honoring a family-first lifestyle.
